About Us

We are a hard working and fun loving family who likes to do most things for ourselves. I thought we were pretty normal country folks, lol, until someone told us not everyone hunts and fishes then processes their own meat, grows a garden and cans the produce, tinkers with leather craft, fixes their own stuff, teaches the kids to do anything they are big enough to safely do, and so much more. After that someone else told me, Hannah, you should show other people how to do what you guys do, others would enjoy it. After thinking it over for awhile and discussing it with my husband Jared, we decided to go for it. We started this blog with pictures, videos, and stories of what we do. We used to have a larger website with quite a few posts, tons of pictures and it looked really good…….but we got so busy with life and then c19, etc that it got shoved to the side and eventually deleted. Life is now starting to calm down a bit and I am rebuilding a website for the blog. It needs a lot of work still before I would say it’s done but I’ll get there eventually. We hope you enjoy following our simple country life.

We have 3 kids, but only the youngest is still at home, our older 2 are in college. Tanya is the oldest lives a few hours away and is getting her masters degree. Jeffery is our middle son but lives even further away and is working on his bachelors degree. (during C19 they are live just up the road a bit and work full time jobs while waiting for the schools to reopen) Jessica is our youngest and is in 7th grade.

Jared and I both work full time though right now I am mostly remote. Jared drives a log truck so his hours are a little crazy! He was an officer for almost 30 years but with the current political shift he decided to get out of law enforcement. I work as an Emergency Management Coordinator and really enjoy it.

We live it the country, have a dog and 2 cats, used to have a flock of chickens until a weasel killed them off, but that’s another story. We love to do just about anything outdoors and the further we are from other people the better we like it, lol. Jared says we are not anti-social, we are just selectively social =)
